Leslie was born and raised in Santa Rosa and is a proud daughter of immigrants with ethnic roots in Oaxaca and Durango, Mexico. Leslie’s professional experience is deep-seated in service and a passion for driving meaningful change for families and children in Sonoma County. She is an AmeriCorps alumna and previously worked for Napa County Office of Education’s Community Programs supporting elementary-aged youth and families in southwest Santa Rosa.
Leslie earned a degree in Sociology from the University of California, San Diego, and is a first-generation college graduate. As a lifelong learner, she is committed to the continuous internal and external work necessary to advance racial equity and healing in communities. Outside of work, Leslie enjoys hiking, collecting and spinning records, and attending concerts.
