Candidates for the current vacancy must represent one or more of the following categories:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"has-normal-font-size wp-block-list\">\r\n<li><strong>Employee of or member of the governance body (e.g. board, council) for a local Child Care Resource and Referral agency or a local child care coordinating and\/or planning group<\/strong><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"has-normal-font-size wp-block-list\">\r\n<li><strong>Post-secondary educator in the early childhood development field<\/strong><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"has-normal-font-size wp-block-list\">\r\n<li><strong>Employee or elected official of a city or town in Sonoma County that has established policy and\/or dedicated resources to promoting optimal child development<\/strong><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The First 5 Sonoma County Commission directs the investment of more than $5 million annually to systems supporting children from birth through age five and their parents and caregivers in Sonoma County. \u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Commissioners are appointed by the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors and serve a term of two years. Commissioners may be reappointed for a total of three terms (maximum of six years) and may receive per diem compensation for their time and reimbursement of expenses such as childcare and transportation.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Potential applicants are encouraged to observe a First 5 Commission public meeting.
