Public Participation Guidelines for Monthly Measure I Community Advisory Council
The First 5 Sonoma County Council encourages and welcomes the participation of the public on matters related to the Measure I business. Measure I CAC meetings are conducted in compliance with the Brown Act(California Government Code Section 54950 et sec.). The Brown Act is intended to promote transparency and public trust in government through procedures that ensure fair and equal public access, attendance and participation. Brown Act procedures also preserve the integrity of the decision-making process via open deliberations and actions of the Measure I CAC.
Notification of Agenda
Meeting agendas are posted 72-hours prior to every Measure I CAC meeting in order to provide adequate notice to the public of what discussion and action is to occur. Subject to very limited exceptions, the Brown Act prohibits the Measure I CAC from taking any action or discussion of an item not on the posted agenda. Meeting agendas and minutes can me found aquí.
Public Comment
As authorized by Governor Newsom’s Executive Order, N-25-20, dated March 12, 2020, the meeting will be held via teleconferencing with members of the Measure I CAC attending from separate remote locations. The meeting will be convened virtually via Zoom where members of the public shall have the right to observe and offer public comment. This altered format is in observance of the recommendation by local officials that certain precautions be taken, including social distancing, to address the threat of COVID-19.
Public Comment is taken on each Agenda Item.
