Nora Malonee-Brand

Commissioner Malonee-Brand manages the Health Policy, Planning, and Evaluation (HPPE) unit for the Sonoma County Department of Health Services (DHS). HPPE helps advance the department’s values of excellence, collaboration, and equity by providing planning, data, and evaluation support to improve health outcomes. Prior to her current role at DHS, Nora managed Health Action, a cross-sector collaborative of community partners, to drive improvements in health and well-being.

Nora has long been passionate about the importance of quality early childhood experiences. While a Policy Analyst at the John Gardner Center for Youth and their Communities at Stanford, Nora got her start in the early childhood world working on evaluating Preschool for All initiatives in the Bay Area and working with sites nationally to improve linkages between community schools and preschools.

While working as a Research Associate at Harder+Company Community Research, Nora provided planning and evaluation services to social sector clients including early childhood providers and advocates (including a number of First 5 Commissions), health departments, school districts, and philanthropies.

She has over ten years of experience conducting planning, applied research, and consulting services in partnership with government, non-profit, and private sector organizations to improve programs and services for the most vulnerable in our community.
