Dr. Jose Morales served as the Chief of Pediatrics for Kaiser Permanente Santa Rosa Medical Center from 2009-2018. He received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School and an MPH from Harvard School of Public Health. After completing his residency at UCSF Dr. Morales has been practicing in Sonoma County for more than 20 years.
Dr. Morales is fluent in Spanish, is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Sonoma County Medical Association, and the California Medical Association. He is also an Assistant Clinical Professor at UCSF.
Dr. Morales’ focus at Kaiser has always been to help build a pediatric department that promotes the health and well-being of all children no matter what their circumstances may be. He has done this through collaboration with Kaiser’s Family Medicine Department, teaching medical students and student doctors, promotion of immunizations, cooperation with Sonoma County Public Health Division, and building ties to the community.
With his youngest daughter off at college, he and his wife are learning new skills at being empty nesters. It has also put into perspective the importance of raising children with a focus on nurturing their spirit, supporting their health, and encouraging a love of education.
