Devanshi Unadkat, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the School of Education at the University of San Francisco. As a child developmentalist and educator, her research focuses on the use of technologies as tools for learning in various contexts with a focus on inclusive education.
Devanshi has taught courses in various departments, including Early Childhood Education, at Santa Rosa Junior College, San Francisco State University, and UC Berkeley.
Devanshi began her career in early childhood settings that valued interdisciplinary perspectives and emphasized innovative, anti-bias, and inclusive pedagogies towards creating socially just and equitable classroom and community spaces, which continue to be cornerstones of her current pedagogical practice. She hopes to bring this lens in her role as First 5 Sonoma County Commissioner. Devanshi is excited to work with stakeholders across sectors in order to support children and families in Sonoma County. She lives with her husband and cats in Santa Rosa. Outside of work she enjoys the incredible outdoors of the Bay Area and is an avid fan of the Marvel Universe.
