Monica brings over a decade of experience designing, implementing, and evaluating community-based programs aimed at advancing economic and racial equity. She specializes in qualitative research, participatory methods, and culturally responsive evaluation practices that center the voices of historically marginalized communities.

Before stepping into her current role, Monica contributed to evaluation efforts for several guaranteed income pilot programs, including the Abundant Birth Project and the Black Economic Equity Movement. She has also worked on an interdisciplinary team at Stanford evaluating local interventions focused on addressing basic needs insecurity for families, such as access to food and diapers.

Monica holds a Master of Public Health from the University of San Francisco and a PhD in Social Welfare from the University of California, Berkeley. She is deeply committed to translating research into actionable insights that shape equitable policies and programs.

Outside of work, Monica enjoys traveling, discovering new food spots, and spending time with her partner and two children, Jaden and Brooklyn.
