The Smoke-Free Babies project works with pregnant and parenting women in Sonoma County to reduce the harms of secondhand smoke exposure. We help women quit or reduce smoking and also teach them to adopt behaviors that protects their children from the harmful effects of secondhand smoke.
In this confidential class, participants are motivated to quit after learning they are pregnant because they were often already thinking of or had tried to quit. The Smoke Free Baby coordinator’s expertise is vital to assist women in quitting or reducing smoking, and distinguishes Smoke Free Babies from other quit smoking programs. Pregnant women, new moms with kids aged 0 to 5, and their partners are eligible to receive these smoking cessation services available in English or Spanish.
