First 5 Funded Programs
We invest in Sonoma County’s youngest children by funding programs and services that promote, support, and improve the early development of children from the prenatal stage through age five. We invest more than $4 million annually in the health, safety, and school readiness of Sonoma County’s youngest citizens.
The state of California has joined the national movement to quantify and support the improvement of early childhood programs. Quality Counts is Sonoma County's Quality Improvement Rating System that will educate parents and improve the quality of early childhood programs statewide.
Triple P: Positive Parenting Program
Triple P is a parenting program, but it doesn’t tell you how to be a parent. It’s more like a toolbox of ideas. You choose the strategies you need. You choose the way you want to use them. It’s all about making Triple P work for you. Triple P has been shown to help reduce kids’ problem behavior and also reduce children’s emotional problems. The evidence also shows it helps parents feel more confident, less stressed, less angry and less depressed.
